Texas public colleges and universities have been involved in a number of state funded course redesign projects. In 2006 during the 79th Texas Legislature, Third Called Session, legislation was passed directing the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to fund the creation and expansion of redesigned developmental and entry-level academic courses. The goal of the Texas Course Redesign Project is to improve student learning, especially in the large, introductory level courses, while at the same time reduce instructional costs through a variety of savings mechanisms. This web site provides information on course redesign efforts in Texas.
